Q. What benefit do I need to qualify for a scooter or powered wheelchair through Motability?
A. You’ll need to be receiving one of the following: the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), the Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).
Q. How long must my benefit be in place for?
A. You’ll need to have at least 12 months remaining on your qualifying benefit from the date you apply.
Q. Do I need to pay a deposit?
A. No, there’s absolutely no deposit required.
Q. How are the payments made?
A. Payments are taken directly from your benefit before it’s paid to you, so there’s nothing extra for you to manage.
Q. What does the lease package include?
A. The Motability lease comes with full support, including servicing and maintenance, breakdown assistance 24/7 all year round, tyre and battery replacement, insurance cover and a temporary scooter if yours needs repairs.
